The dates are set for the 2026/27 Darcy Price New Zealand Ocean Ski Series. Mark these events in your calendar and get ready for another epic summer of ocean ski races.
Eight awesome events across Aotearoa make up the national ocean racing summer series – your best three results count towards the overall series points. Compete, challenge yourself and experience the amazing ocean paddling we have all around New Zealand.
The series events for 2026/26 season are:
- Tawhiti Rahi Coastal Challenge / 2026 NZ Ocean Ski National Championships, Tutukaka – Saturday 19th September 2026
- Windy City Downwind, Wellington – Saturday 14th November 2026
- Deep South Downwind Queenstown – Saturday 5th December 2026
- Paddler Virtual Champs – 1st to 31st January 2027
- Queen and King of the Bay, Tasman – 30 January 2027
- James Moore-morial “Bhutty Moore” Race, Tauranga – Saturday 6th February 2027
- Heads to Harbour, Whakatane – Saturday 6th March 2027
- Auckland King & Queen of the Harbour, Auckland – Saturday 8th May 2027
The Tawhiti Rahi Ocean Challenge in Tutukaka will double as the 2026 NZ Ocean Ski National Championships. National titles will be up for grabs, and it will be worth additional series points.
A competitor’s series points will be the total of their best THREE race points. The event that is allocated the National Championships each year and the Auckland King and Queen of the Harbour will be worth 400points (for the winner). All other races are worth 300points, apart from the Paddler Virtual Champs will be worth 250points.
Named after Darcy Price, a driving force for ocean ski paddling in NZ, this series aims to promote ocean ski and grow the ocean paddling community and showcase the amazing ocean paddling we have all around Aotearoa New Zealand through encouraging paddlers of all ages and abilities to compete, challenge themselves and experience these fantastic events.
