Aimee Fisher won a silver medal in the women’s K1 500m final at the 2026 Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World Championships in Poznan overnight. This wraps up another successful international season for Aimee, who has also won two World Cup gold medals and a world cup silver medal this year.
Aimee came from 4th place at the 250m mark to clinch the silver medal, with Germany’s Pauline Jagsch taking home the world title in a time of 1:47.55. Aimee crossed the line in 1:48.02, while Australia’s Drobot and Poland’s Anna Pulawska both crossed the line in 1:48.58 to share bronze.

This is Aimee’s sixth world championship medal. She won gold in the WK1 500m in 2021 and bronze in the WK1 1000m in 2025. She and Kayla Imrie won as silver in the K2 500m in 2018 and Aimee was in the WK4 crew that won bronze and silver in 2017 and 2018 respectively.
