Kemp and MacGibbon selected for ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships

Canoe Racing New Zealand are pleased to  announce that Thomas MacGibbon and Emma Kemp have been selected to represent New Zealand at the 2024 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

Thomas MacGibbon (Arawa Canoe Club) will be showcasing his speed in the K1 200m and 500m events, while Emma Kemp (Mana Kayak Club) will be demonstrating her endurance in the K1 5000m and 1000m events.
The World Championships take place from 23-25 August. Due to the close proximity of the event to the Paris Olympics, New Zealand is sending a reduced team this year, but are proud to have these young athletes representing Aotearoa and their clubs on the world stage.
Thomas will also be competing in the ICF Under 23 Canoe Sprint World Championships in Bulgaria on 17-21 July.
Best wishes to Thomas and Emma as they prepare for this incredible opportunity!
