Entries are open for Tikitapu 1, the first of two sprint events at Lake Tikitapu in Rotorua each summer season, coming up on 12-13 December.
We are excited to introduce a new fully divisional racing format to this event this year. Paddlers will race against paddlers of a similar ability (speed), regardless of age, gender or craft. This will occur in both single person craft and team boats!
This aims to promote closer and more competitive racing than often seen in gendered, age group racing, as well as makes the event more appealing to paddlers of other paddling craft or disciplines.
Distances will include 200m, 500m and 1000m and feature single and double craft divisions, as well as K4s and club relays.
Full details can be found in the event guide on our online event calendar, and this is where you enter yourself/your family in the single craft events. As per previous years, club managers will enter team boats.
Entries close 11.59pm on Sunday 29 November 2026.
We look forward to kicking off our Summer of Sprint in December at Lake Tikitapu!
